Dean McNamara Online

Dean McNamara, internet entrepreneur and creative marketing specialist, began his journey with much humbler aspirations. Teachers told him that he would never succeed in school - he proved many of them wrong, but that attitude was enough to convince Dean that higher education was for a different type of person.

Instead, he chose the school of hard knocks. Always seeking a new challenge saw a multitude of job opportunities come and go. Each one adding to the skill set that Dean is now able to draw upon.

Door-to-door sales is a great learning experience. Copy writers talk about writing a sales letter and testing it, but that is a slow and somewhat erratic way to test a pitch. Door knocking gives you immediate feedback. It gives you the ability to test various pitches "live," and not only that but it gives you instant feed back. You are able to see the reaction in the eyes and body language of your prospect. Selling to someone who did not know they wanted to buy, while on their own turf is some of the most challenging selling you can do.

Working nights in a factory situation is an interesting study in human behaviour. Working along side people who have little aspiration to better themselves. They just want to do the time, get their money, and run to the pub. Or working with truck drivers who like the freedom of being alone on the road, and are willing to sacrifice 70 or more hours a week to their job. Willing to spend days and nights away from home and families.

If you don't understand who you are marketing to making sales is always going to be hard work. Putting yourself in the shoes of another man (or woman) for a while gives you an appreciation of what makes them tick. You understand their frustrations, you appreciate their desires, and you learn how they spot a fake from a mile off.

By combining this life experience with a talent for standing out in a crowd Dean is able to create unique marketing campaigns to match the needs and budgets of his clients.
